I hear someone say your name
I turn and there you stand.
Your smile is bright and warm
Eyes sparkling with the light of life.
A glance and I have taken in
Your every feature, in fine detail.
You look like that man I fell in love with,
Once again the happy soul.
My heart slows to a lazy rhythm.
I can feel at ease with you
But not your friends, nor mine.
For what they’ll think of me?
Especially if I act as I wish I could.
